Saturday Night at Tree Bar, Columbus

Went to see Dead Set Ready, Slaughterhouse Chorus and Henry’s Rifle Saturday at The Tree Bar (formerly Andyman’s Treehouse) to take some photos with my Lomo Fisheye.  Also filmed a song from Henry’s Rifle.

We Visit The Pencil Sharpener Museum… Seriously

I seriously went to thee Pencil Sharpener Museum in Logan, Ohio over the weekend.  It’s pretty much a glorified shed with an assortment of sharpeners throughout the ages behind plexiglass, because you know, they don’t want you sharpening your own pencil.  Make sure you have other things planned throughout your day though if you make the trip to the “museum” because you’ll be done with the tour in less than 5 minutes.  But what do you want for free anyways, cheapskate!?  After that, I suggest Old Man’s Cave… no pun intended.

Vintage JCPenney 8 Transistor Superheterodyne Transceiver

Picked up this amazing set of old school vintage walkie-talkies at a local thrift store in nearly new condition.  They come with a super long 36″ retractable metal antenna and take 1 single 9volt battery.  If I ever make a Wes Anderson style movie, these must be used for props.  Not a lot of info on these anywhere on the net, so check it out:

Sites Force People To Join Facebook To Comment

As a designer, I’ve noticed a growing trend on sites’ discussion systems that force users to join Facebook to be able to leave a comment on articles and posts.  I realize this isn’t news since it was introduced months ago but I find this not only scary but a little like putting all your comment eggs in one threaded basket.

Lead Singer of The Music Machine, Sean Bonniwell Dead at 71

Their garage-rock single Talk Talk was a Top 20 hit for the band.  I think more bands need to start wearing capes, medallions and turtlenecks again.  The lead singer Sean Bonniwell died on December 20th of lung cancer.  Check out this awesome video of the band’s hit:

Andrew Ahrendt feat Monica Lauer Bukkake Button NSFW

I found this disturbing video in my inbox today from Detroit filmmaker Colin Duerr for Andrew Ahrendt’s song Bukkake Button featuring Monica Lauer.

Be forewarned, while there’s no nudity, it’s pretty much NSFW & there’s blood coming (ahem) out of inappropriate places.  Also featured is musician/smut peddler John Davies (Superbitch Magazine, Beaver Shoot) and Suicide Girl Annisa.  Check out more of Colin’s vids here.
